Team SA: How they fared Day 4

Team SA were in action across seven sporting disciplines on day four of the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, 10 October. This is how they fared.

SWIMMING
Men’s 50m butterfly: Hendrick Duvenhage finished fifth in his heat in 25.54sec, which placed him 34th overall and he failed to reach the semi-finals.
Women’s 50m backstroke: Mariella Venter finished sixth in her heat in 30.15sec, which placed her 23rd overall and she failed to reach the semi-finals.
Men’s 200m breaststroke: Michael Houlie finished eighth in his heat in 2min 26.21sec, which placed him 26th overall and he failed to reach the final.
Women’s 200m freestyle: Kate Beavon finished fourth in her heat in 2min 05.88sec, which placed her 25th overall and she failed to reach the final.
Women’s 200m freestyle: Dune Coetzee finished fifth in her heat in 2:02.83, which placed her 14th overall and she failed to reach the final.
Men’s 4x100m medley relay: Team SA (Hendrik Duvenhage, Michael Houlie, Ethan du Preez and Gabriel Nortje) finished seventh in the final in 3min 34.90sec. Russia won the gold.
