Olympic gold medalist and world champion Lilly King (Evansville, Ind./Indiana University) raced to the women’s 200-meter breaststroke title Friday to highlight night two of the TYR Pro Swim Series at Columbus at Ohio State’s McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

King led wire to wire and touched in a season-best 2 minutes, 24.83 seconds, ahead of runner-up Annie Lazor (Beverly Hills, Mich./Unattached), who finished in 2:26.55.

“It hurt a lot,” said King. “I was kind of nervous after this morning because I didn’t swim all that well this morning, but I got it together and came back and had my best time this season – I’ll take it.”

The action in Columbus continues through Sunday with 10 a.m. EDT prelims followed by finals at 6:30 p.m. EDT.

Other 2016 Olympic medalists picking up wins on Friday included Chase Kalisz (Bel Air, Md./Athens Bulldog Swim Club) in the men’s 200m breast in 2:10.97, Kelsi Dahlia (Westampton, N.J./Cardinal Aquatics) in the women’s 100m fly in 57.29, Leah Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics) in the women’s 400m free in a season-best 4:04.23 and Blake Pieroni (Valparaiso, Ind./Mission Viejo Nadadores) in the men’s 100m free in 49.04.

Smith outlasted fellow Olympians Cierra Runge (Cochranville, Pa./Arizona State) and Allison Schmitt (Canton, Mich./Pitchfork Aquatics), who were second and third, respectively. Kalisz was also third in the 100m fly in 53.52 earlier in the session.

After taking second in last night’s 1500m free, Zane Grothe (Boulder City, Nev./Mission Viejo Nadadores) held on for the win in the men’s 400m free in 3:48.69, while Michael Andrew (Lawrence, Kan./Race Pace Club) won the men’s 100m fly in a personal-best of 51.86.
